Denis offers a unique set of insured dental benefits, managed by a powerful rules-based management system, which enables dental costs to be effectively managed to the benefit of patients, the medical schemes and dentists alike.

The Denis team of over 100 staff members includes 6 full time dentists, 4 oral hygienists, 27 dental nurses, various IT programmers and more than 50 Call Centre consultants. More than 2000 calls are routed daily from both service providers and members to the call centres and over 100 000 dental claims are processed monthly. The technology and architecture used, has been acclaimed as the best in Africa.

Dental practitioners, who register with the Denis Online Facility, are able to bill directly into the Denis system and receive immediate authorisation and payment. This saves practitioners significant administrative costs and thereby enhances the practice's cash flow.

For medical schemes joining Denis, the advantage lies in the annual per patient fee that schemes pay up front. Essentially, this means dental benefits are capped for the year and the scheme knows its commitment upfront. Denis then effectively controls dental costs on behalf of the scheme.

In addition, there are a number of benefits to members of schemes contracted to Denis. These include customised benefits for each individual in the family, no flat fee for a year, second opinions and treatment options, pre-notification and education. Members also have access to the Denis Smile Campaign, which is a wellness programme to educate patients about certain treatments in order for them to make informed decisions.
