The South African Insurance Association (SAIA) would like to announce the resignation of its General Manager: Insurance Risks, Mr Nico Esterhuizen who will be leaving the association at the end of December 2019. After more than 9 years at SAIA, Mr Esterhuizen has decided to pursue other interests which he is extremely passionate about, in the NGO space.

Mr Esterhuizen said: "It has been a good run at SAIA, and I would like to thank every SAIA staff member who made this organisation work daily. I would also like to thank Viviene Pearson for the leadership and guidance that she provided all these years, as well as the SAIA Board, the SAIA Insurance Risks Board Committee who oversaw the work that was coming out of my department. After almost ten years at SAIA, I believe it is time for me to pursue something I have always been passionate about. It has been a pleasure working with every stakeholder in the industry.”

SAIA Chief Executive, Viviene Pearson said: "We would like to thank Mr Esterhuizen for dedicating almost 10 years of his life to the association and the non-life insurance industry. Over the years, he has successfully handled a myriad of projects which required a particular set of skills and know-how, determination and commitment. The SAIA Board, Management and staff will miss Mr Esterhuizen's drive and diligence in dealing with industry challenges and projects. Being the professional that he is, we wish him well in his new-found role and we do not doubt that he will excel."

Ms Pamela Ramagaga, current SAIA Executive Manager who has been working alongside Mr Esterhuizen on several Insurance Risks projects will assume the responsibility of Acting General Manager: Insurance Risks effective the 1st of January 2020.
