Knowledge is Power: Camargue eLearning offering setting new industry benchmarks

Company Listing: Camargue Academy »

By Mari Williams
Head, Liability Academy for Brokers (LAB)

In September 2014, Camargue captivated the insurance industry with the launch of its accredited Directors’ and Officers’ liability eLearning platform. This industry first was quickly followed up with the introduction of the Commercial Crime Liability module – an additional offering and yet another first to market.

Since its inception we have registered over 500 students on the programme with 10% completing the training – some of whom have achieved 100% pass rates.

Not only improving industry standards through the transfer of knowledge, Camargue is facilitating the allocation of much needed CPD points. The course content and assessments have been approved by the Insurance Institute of South Africa and completing the Directors; and Officers’ Liability provides brokers with five points while Commercial Crime Liability is three.

A large percentage of brokers from outlying areas have registered and earned the relevant eight points for the two courses over the festive season.  We are delighted that we are achieving our goal of providing training to brokers throughout the country, including those in outlying areas, with little or no access to this calibre of training.

When gauging broker sentiment towards the training - there was resounding acknowledgement for the value of the course, with 100% of the surveys confirming that the material is robust and relevant and injected with fun.

Camargue partnered with BIHRD Training and Consulting (Part of the E.O.H. Group) in the development of the eLearning platform and says spokesperson - Lenka Strick:  “Camargue has done it again – the launch of the eLab in September 2014 was one of the smoothest transitions we’ve ever been a part of.  Working on this project has been a privilege for BIHRD. The subject matter experts have been inspiring and we look forward to developing Employment Practice Liability training material for launch in March 2015.”

The programme is not intended as a substitute for existing training initiatives offered by Camargue, such as that offered by the Camargue LAB. Instead, the aim is to provide an additional avenue for learning which will be of particular benefit to brokers in more remote areas and IISA members currently based all over the world who wish to participate in the Continuous Professional development framework.

If you have not registered or enrolled for this training yet, consider the CPD points. Do not be left behind, register today, online, anywhere, anytime and on any device!
