Status is a registered private company which forms part of the Statman group of companies. In 1979 when Status acquired the contract of administration for Compcare Medical Scheme, 969 members were registered. Today we administer medical cover for approximately 80 000 lives within nine registered medical schemes. These include five open schemes with unrestricted access to membership and four closed schemes where membership is limited to employees of a certain company, industry or profession.
