Frontline Underwriters (Pty) Ltd underwrite virtually all classes of Short-Term Insurance, with the only exception being Aviation – an uncommon feature with Underwriting Managers these days!

The establishment of our business was in fact partially facilitated by the Munich Reinsurance Company some 9 years ago in that they helped to arrange for the New National Assurance Company Limited to become our “Principals”. MunichRe (the second largest Reinsurer in the world), have a 16% shareholding in New National, providing evidence of our security and stability.

Furthermore, we currently have significant treaties carried essentially by the Swiss Reinsurance Company (the largest global reinsurance company in the world). The New National Assurance Company Limited also has credibility. Apart from the fact that it is the only truly established BBBEE Underwriter, they have grown in stature and reputation as a successful niche player in local insurance industry since they were originally launched, way back in 1930.

Frontline is FAIS and BBBEE compliant and have branches in Cape Town, Durban, Port Elizabeth and East London. Our staff compliment, consisting of over 75 employees, are more than adequately qualified and well experienced – the latter being an important criteria so often lacking in the Insurance Market these days.

We presently have agencies with 240 Brokers, many being the so-called “blue chip” operators such as Alexander Forbes, Aon Risk Services, Indwe and First National Bank Insurance Brokers.

As a last point to ponder…we operate in a market that is fast losing its personal touch. It seems that specific relationships and individual characteristics of Brokers portfolios have been swept aside for the so called greater good of the large insurance companies. This is to our advantage. Our very success has been in our ability to foster meaningful relationships, provide unique products and dedicated service to our Brokers.
